Collector factsCover art by Kentaro Miura. This is the original 1990 Jets Comics edition of volume 1 — the first Berserk tankobon cover, showing Guts and the cannon arm under the original label banner.
Publisher Hakusensha. First released 26 November 1990. In June 2016 the Jets Comics label became Young Animal Comics and volume 1 was reissued with new cover art; that current edition has its own detail page.
As an object it is the starting point of the whole cover run: the one pre-renewal cover this gallery shows verified from a real source, kept beside its 2016 successor so the two lives of the same book can be compared directly.
