Diablo books and novels: the complete English bibliography

Twenty eight verified English works across novels, lore tomes, art books and comics, and one honest absence: there are no Japanese editions.

Diablo has one of the deepest English book lines of any game series. The SOJ census verified 28 works in English: the Pocket Books novels that began in 2000, the Sin War trilogy, the Diablo III era novels by Nate Kenyon, five in world lore tomes, two art book volumes, comics from Dark Horse, DC and Blizzard itself, and short fiction collections running to 2025. One further title often asked about, a standalone Art of Diablo IV, is recorded as NO_EN_EDITION: no such book exists, and Diablo IV art coverage lives in The Art of Diablo Volume II instead.

Every identifier on these pages was verified against publisher pages, distributor catalogues or library records, and passed an ISBN-13 checksum check. Where a commonly circulated number failed that check it was rejected rather than repeated. The clearest case is Moon of the Spider: the form 9780743471325 fails the checksum, so the census records the verified 2023 Blizzard reissue 9781956916171 instead.

Japanese editions are the honest gap in this bibliography. A dedicated check found no Japanese editions of the Diablo novels or lore books at all. This is an English only shelf, which is itself useful information for a collector deciding where to look: the hunt is for Pocket Books first printings, Blizzard Legends reissues, Insight Editions hardcovers and Titan UK variants, not for imports.

The line is still alive. Diablo IV: The Lost Horadrim by Matthew J. Kirby, the official prequel to Lord of Hatred, was published by Random House Worlds on April 21, 2026 in hardcover as 9780425284896. Shadows of Sanctuary, a new short fiction collection, arrived in 2025, and the Dawn of Hatred collected comic edition, 9781785865893, is forthcoming in November 2026.

Use the reading order page if you are starting from zero, the Sin War and Knaak pages for the classic novels, and the Book of Cain through Book of Prava pages for the lore tomes that sit heaviest on a shelf. Each page carries the verified ISBN-13 for the exact edition it describes, so a secondhand listing can be checked digit by digit before money moves.
