Diablo IV: The Lost Horadrim and the Diablo IV era shelf

A Diablo IV novel genuinely exists: hardcover 9780425284896, Random House Worlds, April 21, 2026. The ebook ISBN is a different number.

For a long time the honest answer to whether a Diablo IV novel exists was no. That changed with Diablo IV: The Lost Horadrim by Matthew J. Kirby, published by Random House Worlds on April 21, 2026 as the official prequel to Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred. The census verified the hardcover on the Penguin Random House publisher page at 9780425284896, in print.

One identifier warning matters here. The number 9780399594076 also attaches to this title, but it is the ebook ISBN. Listings and databases that present it as the print book are mixing formats. The print hardcover to match against a physical copy is 9780425284896.

Kirby is a deliberate choice of author for this era: he also wrote Book of Lorath and Book of Prava, the two most recent Horadrim lore tomes, so the Diablo IV shelf has a consistent voice across its novel and its in world reference books. Lorath Nahr himself is the thread: scholar of the Horadrim in the tomes, and a central figure of the Diablo IV era in the games.

The rest of the Diablo IV era shelf is reference and art rather than fiction. Book of Prava, 2024, covers Sanctuary's religions as that era's conflicts form. The Art of Diablo Volume II, 2024, US edition 9781956916287, is where Diablo IV's art is officially collected, since no standalone Art of Diablo IV book exists. The Dawn of Hatred comic collection, 9781785865893, is forthcoming in November 2026.

No Japanese edition of The Lost Horadrim was found in the census. That matches the entire Diablo book line, for which no Japanese editions of the novels or lore books exist.
