How Did Vinland Saga End?

It ended on July 25, 2025, with the voyage home.

After twenty years, Vinland Saga concluded in the September 2025 issue of Monthly Afternoon, on sale July 25, 2025. The final chapter, chapter 220, “Somewhere Not Here,” closes the Vinland Arc: the settlement attempt fails in war and sickness, Thorfinn buries his friend Einar, teaches what farming he can to the people who remain, and sails home to a newborn child, while the Mi’kmaq take up the wheat the settlers left behind.

The collected ending reached shelves as volume 29 on September 22, 2025, the last of the twenty-nine covers in the gallery: an older Thorfinn standing in snow among planted swords. In English, the final stretch arrives in Kodansha USA’s hardcover line, whose fifteenth and last book is dated October 13, 2026.

Yukimura had announced the final arc in November 2019 and predicted it would take several years. It took six. The series is complete; there is no announced continuation.
