How long is Soul Eater?

The manga is 117 chapters in 25 volumes; NOT! adds 5 volumes; the anime runs 51 episodes plus a 12 episode NOT! series; the connected Ohkubo shelf adds Fire Force's 34.

The main manga ran in Monthly Shonen Gangan from May 2004 to August 2013, totaling 117 chapters. Collected, it is 25 tankobon volumes in Japanese and in Yen Press English, or 17 volumes in the Perfect Edition's larger format. It is a finished story with its ending written by Ohkubo, which makes every count on this page final rather than provisional.

The spin off Soul Eater NOT! ran from 2011 to 2014 in five volumes, overlapping the main series' final years and set alongside its early timeline. Read together, the two series total 30 volumes of Death City stories, with NOT! deliberately lighter in tone and length, a companion rather than a sequel.

On screen, the Bones anime runs 51 episodes from 2008 to 2009, with an original final third, and the NOT! anime adds 12 episodes from 2014. The screen catalog totals 63 episodes, none of which adapt the manga's post Brew arcs or its Moon war ending, a gap that defines the difference between owning the anime and owning the story.

The wider Ohkubo shelf extends the measure. B. Ichi adds four early volumes, and Fire Force adds 34 volumes and its own anime, with the two series revealed as one continuity. A complete Ohkubo collection in English is therefore 68 manga volumes across four series, all in print from Yen Press, Kodansha and Square Enix Manga in recent years.

Reading pace is part of the appeal: Soul Eater's monthly chapters are dense but the 25 volumes move fast, and most readers finish in weeks. It is one of the most completable major shonen shelves of its generation, which the Library counts as a collecting virtue in itself.
