How Many Chapters Does Vinland Saga Have?
220 chapters, plus the extras Yukimura tucked between them.
The numbered run of Vinland Saga is 220 chapters, ending with chapter 220, “Somewhere Not Here,” a title that answers chapter 2, “Somewhere Not Here,” across twenty years. Around the numbered spine sit bonus stories and side pieces: the “Heroic Exploits of Viking Girl Ylva” extras in the early volumes, the “Dogland Saga” side story in volume 19, and Yukimura’s 2004 one-shot about the swordsman Okita Sōji, reprinted in volume 23.
Chapter counts by arc: War 1–54, Slave 55–100, Eastern Expedition 101–166, Vinland 167–220. In November 2019 Yukimura announced the final arc would run more than 50 chapters and over 1,000 pages; it landed at 54 chapters, true to his word.
