Japanese title is completely different in wording — *Kamigami no Triforce* (Triforce of the Gods), not a translation of "A Link to the Past". Released exactly one year after the Super Famicom hardware launch (Nov 21, 1990 → Nov 21, 1991).

Super Famicom box is portrait-format, unlike the landscape US SNES box — the two cannot be cropped from each other. Religious wording/symbols present in the Japanese original were softened for the US version (see ALTTP-US).
