Is there a Claymore live-action series?
Announced in March 2025: Claymore's second screen life is being built in Hollywood.
In March 2025, a live-action Claymore television series was announced as in development, with CBS Studios, Propagate Content, actor-producer Masi Oka, and Shueisha itself producing. As of the sources behind this page, no episodes, casting, or dates exist: it is an announcement, documented here because announcements are where adaptations begin.
WHY IT DRAWS ATTENTION
The unfinished business of 2007The anime's open door
The 2007 Madhouse anime remains the only screen Claymore: twenty-six episodes, faithful for most of its length, ending in invention because the manga had years left to run. A live-action series is the first adaptation that can plan against a finished, closed, twenty-seven-volume story.
The property's position
Claymore sits in the small class of manga that Western television now hunts: a complete dark-fantasy epic with a devoted international readership, a famous unfinished adaptation, and a world built from European medieval imagery that needs no translation of setting, only of budget.
