What are the major story arcs of Kingdom?

The arcs follow Qin's wars state by state: early survival battles, the Coalition Invasion, the conquest of Zhao, and the widening unification campaign.

Kingdom organizes its long war into campaigns that mirror the historical conquest sequence. The early arcs are small: Shin joins his first battles as a foot soldier, fights in the rebellion that threatens Ei Sei's throne, and earns his first commands in Qin's border wars, learning tactics under generals such as Ouki, the series' beloved early mentor figure.

The Coalition Invasion arc is the first giant set piece. Five states combine against Qin, and the defense of the capital region becomes a multi front epic that fills several volumes. It is the arc that established Kingdom's signature move, cutting between many commanders whose separate duels and gambits decide one connected battle.

The Western Zhao Invasion arc, often called the Gyou campaign, is the longest sustained operation in the series. Qin invades its great rival Zhao to seize the city of Gyou, and the arc layers a siege, a supply war and huge field battles into a single years long storyline in serialization time. Many readers rank it as the series' peak.

Between the great campaigns, Hara runs political arcs inside Qin's capital, Xianyang, where Ei Sei's court fights over law, succession and the philosophy of unification itself. These quieter stretches give the wars meaning, because the manga argues that how China is unified matters as much as whether it is.

Later arcs push into Han and deeper into Zhao as the historical endgame approaches. Because the real chronology is fixed, arc guides are best read as campaign maps: each arc names its states, its historical generals and the ground gained toward the unification of 221 BC.
