One Piece movies in order
The Toei Fair era films, annual from 2000, pair the series with the studio's seasonal anime festivals: the first film, Clockwork Island Adventure, Dead End Adventure, The Cursed Holy Sword, Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island, whose director Mamoru Hosoda made it the critics' entry, Giant Mecha Soldier of Karakuri Castle, and the two Episode of retellings of Alabasta and Chopper's arc. These are ninety-minute side quests with theatrical animation budgets, collected now mostly in box sets, with Baron Omatsuri the one that escaped the fandom into film culture at large.
Strong World changed the line's status in 2009: Oda wrote the story, designed the villain Shiki, a canonical figure from Roger's era, and supervised production for the manga's tenth anniversary, and the film's success made creator authorship the films' selling point from then on. Film Z (2012), with Oda as executive producer and the ex-Admiral Zephyr as antagonist, and Film Gold (2016), a casino heist in the series' largest original setting, consolidated the model.
Stampede (2019) was the twentieth anniversary festival film, a battle royale of the series' entire cast chasing Roger's treasure at a pirate expo, and Film Red (2022), built around Uta, a singer who is Shanks's daughter in the film's telling, became the franchise's highest-grossing film worldwide and a music phenomenon in Japan, where its songs by Ado dominated the charts for months. The Library gives Red its own page; Stampede and Strong World share one.
Collecting the films means choosing between the Japanese Blu-ray line, uniform and subtitle-free, and Western releases with dub and sub options across several distributors and eras. Posters and theatrical pamphlets for the Oda-era films are the paper collectibles of the line, printed for Toei's theater programs and traded as a set.
