What are the Attack on Titan omnibus editions?

Twelve fat paperbacks that put the whole war on one short shelf.

Kodansha USA’s Omnibus line collects the series three standard volumes at a time: twelve books in all, the first ten binding three volumes each and the last two binding two each, which is how 34 volumes divide. The first omnibus runs 592 pages, and the trim is larger than the original English singles, a quiet upgrade in page size for the same paintings.

Omnibuses are the reading edition, priced to move: this is the format most Western readers actually finished the series in after the singles fell behind the anime. For collectors the line matters as the third state of the text: same art as the singles, bigger page, different spines, and covers built from Isayama’s art in new arrangements. A complete set of twelve is a finished object; a partial set is a reading copy.

Notes
Count to twelve
Listings that say “complete omnibus set” should show twelve spines. Sets of ten are missing the two 2-in-1 books that carry volumes 31–34.
Not the Colossal line
Different trim, different paper, different price class. The two lines are routinely confused in listings; the Colossal books are the oversize 7×10.5-inch ones.
