What are the four Slam Dunk movies from the 1990s?

Four short Toei features with original stories, released alongside the TV series and largely forgotten next to the 2022 film.

Before THE FIRST SLAM DUNK there were four others. Toei Animation produced a quartet of short theatrical features in 1994 and 1995, released alongside the running TV series and built from original stories rather than manga arcs.

They are period pieces of 1990s anime economics: mid-length films made to play in Toei's seasonal festival programs, expanding the world with exhibition games and side stories the manga had no room for. None adapts the national tournament, which is why lists of Slam Dunk films that stop at these four confuse newcomers who arrive from the 2022 phenomenon.

For collectors they survive on Japanese home video and in the film books and pamphlets sold at their screenings, the paper trail being, as usual, the most durable part.
