What awards has Attack on Titan won?

The shelf is full, and it started before the anime existed.

Attack on Titan’s first major honour was publishing’s own: Best Shōnen Manga at the 35th Kodansha Manga Award in 2011, won while the series was still a monthly-magazine cult object. It was nominated the same season for the Manga Taishō and, the next year, for the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize Grand Prize. The English edition then won the Harvey Award for Best American Edition of Foreign Material (2014), and Japanese readers voted it best manga at the first Sugoi Japan Awards (2015).

The later honours are about the author as much as the book: Isayama received the Noma Publishing Culture Award (2021) and a special Fauve at the 50th Angoulême International Comics Festival (2023), the French industry’s salute. The anime collected its own shelf, including Animation of the Year at the 2014 Tokyo Anime Award and, a decade on, the first Global Impact Award at the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.
