What else has Hirohiko Araki drawn?

JoJo fills most of the shelf by design, but the books around it, especially Baoh and the Rohan stories, are where his range shows.

The pre JoJo shelf is covered in this hub's early works material: the debut short Poker Under Arms (1980), the boy detective series Cool Shock B.T., the horror action manga Baoh (1984 to 1985), which has its own entry here, and the stories of The Gorgeous Irene, whose glamorous and dangerous heroine previews the female characters of the later saga. These are short books, all of them, because JoJo arrived when Araki was 26 and never left.

The Rohan shelf is the great exception inside the JoJo years. Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan, the spin off following JoJo Part 4's manga artist character, has run as a series of one shots since 1997 and grew to include a Louvre set full length story, a Gucci collaboration story, novels by other writers, and live action and anime adaptations. It is a second body of Araki manga hiding inside the first, and this hub gives it two entries of its own.

Around those sit the commissions and one offs that mark his public standing: the Louvre project's Rohan au Louvre, the Gucci exhibition works, a poster contribution for the Tokyo Paralympics' official art program, and illustrations and covers across decades of JoJo exhibitions and anniversaries. Araki also realized a long held ambition in print with his technique book, Manga in Theory and Practice.

The honest summary for a collector is that Araki is the opposite of the prolific multi series artist. His non JoJo manga can be shelved in a single short row, and that is the point of his career: one saga, endlessly reinvented, plus one spin off character who lets him tell any story he wants. Readers asking this question usually want Baoh first, then Rohan, and this hub is arranged in that order.
