What is Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle?

An expansion the size of a sequel, which is how the game reached the ocean.

Final Battle (Japan 4 July 2019; worldwide 5 July 2019) extends Attack on Titan 2 from chapter 50’s territory to chapter 90: the whole of the anime’s third season, playable. It adds character episode mode (set-piece chapters played as the named cast rather than your scout), taking the roster past forty playable characters, and it rebuilds combat around the late story’s tools: Thunder Spears for armoured targets and firearms for the anti-personnel battles, the arc where the enemy stops being only Titans.

Its original mode, Wall Reclamation, is the strategic layer the series had lacked: retake territory outside the walls hex by hex, building the base the story’s army never got to enjoy. Sold both as a full package and as an upgrade for owners of the base game, Final Battle is the version of Attack on Titan 2 that listings mean when they call it complete; the Stadia port that followed in November 2019 dates it precisely to gaming’s streaming experiment.

WHAT IT ADDS

The checklist
Chapters 51–90
The coup, the Reiss cavern, and the return to Shiganshina, ending at the ocean: the game caught up to everything the anime had shown by 2019.
40+ playable characters
Character episodes put the named cast in your hands for their signature scenes, where the base game kept them as companions.
Wall Reclamation mode
A territory campaign outside the walls. The only Attack on Titan game mode about holding ground instead of surviving it.
