What Weekly Shonen Jump issue has the first Gear 5 chapter?

Weekly Shonen Jump 2022 No.17, released March 28, 2022, carries One Piece chapter 1044, "Warrior of Liberation," the chapter where Luffy's Gear 5 appears for the first time. That single chapter turned an ordinary weekly issue into one of the most collected Jump magazines of the modern era.

Here is the part that trips buyers up: the cover is not One Piece. The cover of 2022 No.17 belongs to Sakamoto Days, Sakamoto aiming up at the reader while Shin tumbles upside-down beside him. If you are hunting this issue and looking for Luffy on the front, you will walk straight past it. The Sakamoto cover is how you identify the Gear 5 issue.

One magazine, two fandoms: One Piece collectors want it for chapter 1044, and Sakamoto Days collectors want it as the series' fourth cover. That double demand is exactly why this issue holds its value while ordinary 2022 issues do not.
