Which Japanese Zelda guides were never released in English?

So far, all of them. Every licensed Japanese guide in the census is a Japan only book.

One piece of precision first, because the question turns on it. This page answers for the books, not the games. English guides exist for most of these games, but they are different books, written and published in America, chiefly by Prima and Nintendo Power. The Japanese guides, from Shogakukan, Enterbrain, Nintendo DREAM, Kadokawa and the other licensed houses, were published in Japanese, in Japan, and none of them was ever released in English.

The count so far: 25 licensed guides for the original releases of eight games, plus 7 guides for later versions of those games, 32 books in all. The full list follows, game by game, exactly as the census on file stands. Where the census coverage is partial, this page says so, at the bottom.

NO ENGLISH GUIDE AT ALL

The Skyward Sword HD case

Most games on this page at least received an American guide, even if it was a different book. Skyward Sword HD received none. The census records the Japanese guide, Nintendo DREAM's Complete Strategy Book of July 16, 2021 (ISBN 978-4-19-865327-9), and records just as plainly that no United States guide edition for the game was published: Prima, the last of the big American guide houses, had ceased publishing by then. For that game, the Japanese book is not the Japan only version of the guide. It is the only licensed guide there is.

WHAT "SO FAR" MEANS

The limits of this list, stated plainly

Licensed houses only. The census counts guides from the established licensed publishers, the official Nintendo Guidebook line, Famitsu, Nintendo DREAM, Dengeki and Kadokawa, V Jump Books, SoftBank, and Futabasha. Guides from publishers outside that list exist for several of these games and are excluded by rule, so the true Japan only total is higher than 32.

Eight games deep, not series wide. The census covers the eight games above and their later versions. Guides for the Famicom era games sit outside its original scope, and any series wide claim would need the wider sweep first.

One known book is still uncounted. A Japanese official guidebook for Majora's Mask 3D, from Shogakukan, has been spotted in the market, and the census flags a remake sweep as still owed before it can be folded in. It is not part of the 32 until that sweep is done. When the census moves, this page moves with it.
