What is Bloodborne Official Artworks?

The hunt, on paper: 256 pages of Yharnam’s designs, in a book that outlived its console generation.

Bloodborne Official Artworks is the game’s official art book: character, enemy, weapon and environment designs with the designers’ working art, published in Japan by Kadokawa and in English by UDON Entertainment, the English paperback edition runs 256 pages (ISBN 978-1772940367, July 2017). It is the companion to this shelf’s other print volumes, the Dark Souls Design Works: same publisher pairing, same purpose, fixing a world built to be glimpsed into a book that can be studied.

Bloodborne’s paper trail is wider than one book. Future Press’s official guide grew into a 744-page complete edition in 2024; Titan Books has run a Bloodborne comic series since 2018; and CMON’s card and board games restage the hunt on tabletops. For a single game with a single expansion, it is a large printed afterlife.

THE PRINTED HUNT

Books of Bloodborne
Official Artworks · 256 pp
The design volume: hunters, beasts, Great Ones and the city itself, from concept sketch to final render. The English edition is a paperback where the Dark Souls volumes are hardcover, shelf them apart.
Future Press Complete Guide · 744 pp
The strategy guide as monument: the 2024 complete edition compiles a decade of the game’s knowledge into one of the largest game guides in print.
The Nightmare Edition
Europe’s collector edition of the game itself deserves its line: steelbook case, hardcover art book, soundtrack, and a quill-and-ink set modelled on the game’s own, stationery as merchandise, and exactly the kind of object this site exists to notice.
