Frieren Books Beyond the Manga

A fanbook, a prequel novel, two bundled novellas, and an art book.

The Frieren shelf extends past the fifteen volumes in four documented directions. The official fanbook (January 12, 2024) collects series information, illustrations, summaries and the creators' initial rough character designs. The prose line is written by Mei Hachimoku: the Prelude novel (April 17, 2024) and the short novellas bundled with special editions.

An art book, Frieren Art Book Vol. 1, is also in the publisher's catalogue listings. It is recorded here as it stands in those listings; a verified copy has not passed through this Library's hands, so no date or contents are claimed for it.

THE PROSE

Mei Hachimoku's Frieren
Prelude
Five original short stories centred on Frieren, Fern, Stark, Kanne, Lawine and Aura, written under Yamada's supervision. Yen Press published the English edition on March 24, 2026.
The 24-page novella
Sora ni Hana wo Sakaseru Mahō, "the magic to make flowers bloom in the sky," bundled with the special edition of volume 14 (March 18, 2025).
The volume 15 booklet
Volume 15's special edition (December 18, 2025) again carried a Hachimoku short-story booklet, the pattern now established: the newest volume arrives with new prose.

THE REFERENCE BOOKS

For the documentation shelf
The official fanbook
January 12, 2024, credited to Yamada, Abe and Caramel Mama: the series documented by its own house, rough designs included.
Special editions generally
Volumes 12, 14 and 15 all shipped with special editions; the collector's Frieren is increasingly the one with the booklet, a pattern this shelf tracks volume by volume.
The art book
Frieren Art Book Vol. 1 appears in Shogakukan's catalogue listings. When a copy can be examined, this page will carry its date, size and contents, and not before.
