The Ghost in the Shell Manga Gallery
Three books, three decades of editions: the whole Shirow shelf, volume by volume.
Ghost in the Shell is unusual among famous manga: the original work is a single thick volume. Everything since, the sequels, the boxed sets, the hardcovers, the English editions that flipped, restored, and redrew it, hangs off that one 1991 Kodansha book and the two sequels Shirow published over the following decade. This gallery documents the editions themselves: what each one is, when it appeared, and how it differs from the book before it.

The true sequel: serialized in Weekly Young Magazine in 1997, previewed in the deluxe Solid Box of December 2000, then issued as a standard volume on June 26, 2001 with 24 color pages and more than twenty revised pages.
