How many Trails games are there?

Thirteen main entries, but the honest answer needs its terms defined.

Count only the continuous Zemuria story and there are thirteen main Trails games: three Sky, two Crossbell, four Cold Steel, one Reverie, two Daybreak and one Beyond the Horizon, released between 2004 and 2024. Add the ground-up remakes of the first two Sky games, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter (2025) and 2nd Chapter (2026), and the shelf holds fifteen Trails releases, with a final Calvard game and the series finale still to come. One further Calvard title is planned before the announced 2032 ending.

Widen the lens to the parent franchise and The Legend of Heroes counts seventeen numbered entries: the two Dragon Slayer games (1989, 1992), the Gagharv trilogy (1994–1999) and Legend of Heroes VI onward, which is where Trails begins. Around the main line orbit the spin-offs this Library documents separately: the action RPG The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails (2012), the crossover fighter Ys vs. Trails in the Sky (2010), and the Japanese gacha game Trails at Sunrise (2016). Remasters complicate any count, the Vita Evolution editions and PS4 Kai editions re-dress earlier games rather than add new ones, so this Library counts stories, not SKUs.
