How many volumes of the Solo Leveling novel are there?

Fourteen in the first Korean print edition, eight in the revised edition, and eight in English.

The Korean novel exists in two print shapes. D&C Media's first Papyrus edition ran to 14 volumes, thirteen of story plus a side-story volume, completed on April 18, 2018. A revised edition followed, repackaging the same text into 8 larger volumes, completed on August 19, 2019. Neither is abridged; the count changed because the books got thicker, which is why Korean listings that seem to disagree about the novel's length are usually describing different editions.

English readers met the prose in two waves. Webnovel published a digital translation as Only I Level Up from December 21, 2018 to June 24, 2019. Yen Press then issued the print novels under its Yen On imprint, eight volumes from February 16, 2021 to July 18, 2023, at $15 a volume, matching the Korean revised edition's shape rather than the first edition's.

For a shelf, the decision is edition, not count. The 14-volume first edition is the version contemporary with the webtoon's rise and carries the original Papyrus covers. The 8-volume revised edition and its English twin are the cleaner reading set, and they are the text Yen Press later gathered into its deluxe hardcover omnibus.
