Two US ESRB-logo print variants are documented by VGCollect contributors: white ESRB logo (DMG-AZLE-USA) and black ESRB logo (cart DMG-AZLE-USA-1) — check the rating logo colour before calling a box "first print".

As with JP DX, the code is DMG-, not CGB-, despite being a headline Game Boy Color title; the black cartridge is dual-mode (plays on original Game Boy, enhanced on Color). US box copy leads with colour ("in beautiful colour!") — the selling point was the palette, the Color Dungeon is the content addition.
