Gold cartridge with battery-backed save — widely cited as the first home-console cartridge with internal battery save. Box has a cut-out window revealing the gold cart.
Later US reissues exist that must not be conflated: Classic Series re-release (GameFAQs: NES-ZL-USA-2, 1992, grey cartridge) and other print variants with different seal/rev details. Original box art is emblem-only; Link character art is on the manual/cart label, not the front.
