The Inuyasha Films

Four December films, 2001–2004, all with original stories by the TV series’ writer, Katsuyuki Sumisawa. Together they took over $20 million at the Japanese box office.

The films were an annual December fixture during the TV run’s peak, written not from the manga but by the anime’s own writer, Katsuyuki Sumisawa, original storylines built to sit between the series’ arcs and to give its animators a bigger canvas. All four were released in English by Viz Media.
