Is Yokohama Kaidashi Kikō available in English?
For 28 years the answer was no. Yokohama Kaidashi Kikō, published in Japan from 1994 to 2006, was the most requested unlicensed manga in English, a famous never-licensed title, and the internet is still full of answers written in those years. They are out of date.
Seven Seas licensed the series in February 2022 and released it complete as five Deluxe omnibus volumes between August 2022 and 2024. The English edition is built on Japan's shinsouban reissue for its content, including the reissue's extra material. Nothing is missing and nothing is still in progress: the whole story is on English shelves.
The covers hold the twist. Japan's shinsouban reissue received all-new cover illustrations, but the Seven Seas omnibuses do not use them. They recycle the original tankobon illustrations instead: Omnibus 1 wears tankobon Vol 1's art, Omnibus 2 wears Vol 5's, Omnibus 3 wears Vol 8's. The newest Japanese covers are the one set English readers never got. All three editions are pictured below.
