What are the My Hero Academia mobile games?

Two phone games and a battle royale: the franchise in your pocket.

The franchise’s free-to-play era produced three titles. My Hero Academia: The Strongest Hero launched in North American and other English markets in late May 2021: an open-city action RPG that let players patrol Honei City as the students. My Hero Academia: Ultra Impact followed in February 2022, a collectible team battler built on the anime’s scenes and illustrations, the quieter and longer-lived of the two.

The third is the hybrid: Ultra Rumble, Byking’s free-to-play battle royale, launched 28 September 2023 simultaneously on phones’ bigger siblings, the consoles and PC, with 24 players dropping into Quirk-powered squad combat. Together the three mark the years when the franchise’s centre of gravity briefly shifted from discs and cartridges to live services; the boxed line they accompanied is censused on the games page.

THE PHONE PAIR

2021 and 2022
The Strongest Hero (2021)
Action first: real-time combat, an explorable city, and co-op missions. The English-market launch in May 2021 made it the franchise’s mobile flagship in the West.
Ultra Impact (2022)
Collection first: teams of three, the anime’s art as the draw, and a story mode retelling the series. February 2022, worldwide in step.
The pattern
One action game, one collector game: the same two-format strategy as the console shelf’s fighter and royale, scaled for phones.

THE ROYALE

Ultra Rumble · 2023
The pitch
Eight teams of three, 24 heroes and villains, one shrinking map: battle royale grammar with Quirk kits, from the One’s Justice studio.
The platforms
Free-to-play across PlayStation, Switch, Xbox, and PC from 28 September 2023: deliberately everywhere the audience already was.
The era marker
A 2023 live-service launch, while the manga ran toward its ending: the games shelf outlived the book that spawned it, as the anime did.
