Totoro, Porco Rosso, and Spirited Away Get Steelbook and Collector's Editions on December 7
Anime Limited has confirmed new home editions of three Hayao Miyazaki films: My Neighbor Totoro (1988), Porco Rosso (1992), and Spirited Away (2001), all bearing the GKIDS logo. They release December 7, 2026.
Each film arrives in four tiers: a standard DVD, a standard Blu-ray, a Steelbook edition carrying Blu-ray and DVD together, and a Collector's Edition that adds four art cards, a poster, and a booklet.
The ladder is the story. A standard disc is for watching. A Steelbook is for the shelf. A Collector's Edition with printed extras is for the collection, and all three films are getting the full ladder at once, which almost never happens for catalog titles this beloved.
Tiered physical editions of the three most collectible Ghibli films are a fresh demand signal for Ghibli physical media generally. When new Collector's Editions put art cards and posters back in print, attention spills onto everything physical in the lane, including the Japanese editions and paper goods that were never reprinted at all.
On the shelf: the Ghibli shelf in the Library. December 7 is also on the Calendar.
