The Ocarina of Time Remake Launches Thursday

The 1998 originals, American and Japanese. The remake sends a new generation back to these.
The short version: the Ocarina of Time remake launches this Thursday, November 5, 2026, as a Switch 2 launch title.

Twenty-eight years after it defined 3D adventure games, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time returns in a full remake, arriving Thursday, November 5, 2026 alongside the Switch 2 launch.

For collectors, a remake launch is never just about the new copy. It is the moment a large new audience meets the series for the first time and starts looking backward at the original: the 1998 Nintendo 64 release, the Japanese editions, and the guides and art that surrounded them.

The Collector Angle

Remake weeks are when original-era material gets fresh eyes: N64 copies, the Japanese strategy guides with cover art the West never received, and the 2016 Enterplay foil cards. That is a pattern to watch this week, not a promise. The Library's Zelda shelf documents the originals either way.
