Trigun Gets a New Novel This Winter, From Its Creator and the Stampede Writer

The announcement ran in the autumn issue of Shueisha's Jump SQ. RISE magazine. The book is a novel, not a manga volume: a new prose story built on the world of the current anime, Trigun Stampede and its final phase Trigun Stargaze, which premiered on January 10 and is set two and a half years after Stampede.
The byline is the story. Nightow created Trigun as a manga in 1995, and Oxi wrote the Stampede anime that reintroduced the series to a new audience. A creator returning to write prose inside his own world, together with the current anime's writer, is a different object from a licensed tie-in novel. No exact release date has been announced beyond this winter, and no English edition has been announced.
Japanese novels in retro lanes tend to get one quiet printing and then get hard to find, and a Nightow byline makes this one the Trigun book to own from this era. Watch for a firm date and preorder listings; this desk will add the date to the Calendar when Shueisha announces one.
