What Strategy Guides Does Kartia Have?

Three official guides: two Japanese books from Atlus itself, one American Prima.

Japan gave Kartia the full Atlus treatment. Atlus Publishing, the company's own book arm, released an official guide book and an official setting materials collection, both written by JK Voice. The guide covers story and strategy to the end, and it ran a popularity contest inside its own print run: the first printing printed the vote's interim standings, and later printings published the final results, so two copies of the same guide can differ inside.

America got one guide: Prima's Official Strategy Guide, written by Russell Barnes and published in August 1998 alongside the game. It holds complete walkthroughs for both storylines, turn-by-turn breakdowns of each battle, battlefield maps, and the equipment and weapon lists that a game with no shops makes essential.

THE JAPANESE BOOKS

Atlus Publishing, 1998
Rebus Official Guide Book
The main guide: story and strategy through the ending, by JK Voice. First printings carry the character popularity vote at mid-count; reprints carry the results.
Rebus Official Setting Materials Collection
The companion volume: the world's setting and background, supplemented with strategy for the game's early chapters. Also by JK Voice.

THE AMERICAN BOOK

Prima, 1998
Prima's Official Strategy Guide
By Russell Barnes. Prima Publishing, August 1998, ISBN 978-0-7615-1682-8. Walkthroughs for both Toxa's and Lacryma's campaigns, battle maps, and full equipment lists.
The guide's market today
PriceCharting put a loose copy at about $26 in November 2026, with recorded eBay sales through 2025 and 2026 between $12 and $35, roughly half a dozen copies changing hands a year.

THE WIDER PAPER TRAIL

Manga, novel, music
The manga · 2 volumes
A Rebus manga ran in Enix's Monthly GFantasy, by Akirako Iwasa, and was collected in two volumes. It is the game's only comic adaptation.
The novel
Rebus: The Saint Abandoned by God, published by ASCII and written by Naoko Korekata, retells the story from Lacryma's side, with some settings changed from the game.
The soundtrack · 2 CDs
Rebus Original Soundtrack and Classical Arrange (King Records, KICA-5011~2): the game score on one disc, classical arrangements on the second, under a jacket drawn new by Amano.
