The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails, the spin-off that isn't Zemuria
The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails began as Nayuta no Kiseki for the PSP in July 2012, slotted in Falcom's release calendar between Trails to Azure and Cold Steel. The shared name is branding and little more: Nayuta Herschel lives on Remnant Isle, in a world where ruins and "star fragments" rain from an endless sky-sea, and his adventure, told with the action combat of Falcom's Zwei lineage rather than Trails' turn-based systems, never touches the continent, chronology or cast of the main saga. Falcom has never folded it into the Zemuria canon; fandom files it, affectionately, as the series' beautiful false cognate.
Its Western story rhymes with Crossbell's. Skipped for a decade, Nayuta was finally published in English by NIS America in 2023, remastered for PS4, Switch and PC with new HD presentation, under the title The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails. This Library shelves it beside the main line rather than inside it: the thirteenth name on the Trails shelf, and the standing reminder that in this franchise, the word "Trails" marks a family, not a continuity.
