What is Jack Jeanne, the game Sui Ishida created?

Between manga, Ishida built an entire theatre game, and he is credited with nearly everything in it.

Jack Jeanne (ジャックジャンヌ) is a Nintendo Switch game by Broccoli, developed with Happinet and released in Japan on March 18, 2021, after two delays. It is a visual novel with rhythm-game elements, set at an elite all-male drama academy whose students play both the male “Jack” and female “Jeanne” roles. Broccoli described its story as the length of twenty novels.

Ishida is credited with the original work and character designs, and also worked on the world design, the in-game illustrations and the insert songs’ lyrics. The scenario was written by Ishida with Shin Towada, the Tokyo Ghoul novelist (and his sister); Akira Kosemura composed the music. Aksys Games released the English Switch edition on June 15, 2023; Japanese iOS and Android editions followed in March 2023, and a sequel was announced at the game’s third-anniversary event in March 2024. Shueisha published the art and documents as Jack Jeanne Complete Collection: Sui Ishida Works.
