What is Nagasakiya Zelda card No. 22, the Spin Attack card?

A move, not a portrait: the spin attack frozen mid arc, with the Kokiri Sword documented on the back.

Most Nagasakiya fronts are portraits or scenes. No. 22 is a technique: young Link caught mid spin attack, the orange energy arc of the slash cutting across the card, Biri and Bari jellyfish drifting around him against a magenta glow.

The back, documented in this Library's chase files, reads No. 22, with an item guide panel for the Kokiri Sword, a points value of 019 and five hearts: a modest points number wearing the top heart rating, a combination that says the backs' two scales measure different things.

The artwork did not stay inside the set. The same spin attack illustration was reused the following year in Bandai's Carddass line, where it appears as No. 37 of that set, and graded examples of the Carddass card circulate under the name Spin Attack. It is the second documented case, after No. 48 and Carddass No. 42, of the two rival sets sharing a painting.

Together the two reuse cases redraw the relationship between the sets: competitors in the market, but drawing on the same pool of Ocarina of Time artwork, sometimes literally the same picture.
