What is the status of One-Punch Man season 3?
It aired in the fall of 2025, it was received badly, and it is not finished: a second cours arrives in January 2027.
Season 3 was announced in August 2022 and arrived three years later. J.C.Staff returned as the studio, with Shinpei Nagai directing, and the season aired from October 12 to December 28, 2025, after a recap special on October 5. It covers the Monster Association war, the manga’s biggest arc.

The reception
Response was the harshest the series has drawn. Anime News Network’s year-end coverage named it the worst anime of 2025, and episode discussion focused on limited animation rather than the story being adapted.
The redraw problem, on screen
Episode 9, aired in December 2025, adapted the first, superseded version of the Child Emperor and Phoenix Man fight, meaning the anime filmed a draft the manga itself had since replaced twice.
The running totals
Across three seasons the anime stands at 36 television episodes, plus 12 OVAs and specials released with the home video editions, from the 2015 Road to Hero onward.
