What is Tokyo Ghoul [Jack]?
A seven-chapter prequel, published online, about the investigator when he was a schoolboy.
Tokyo Ghoul [Jack] follows Kishō Arima and Taishi Fura twelve years before the main series, when a death among Fura’s friends draws the two into an investigation that starts Fura down the road to the CCG. It ran on Shueisha’s Jump Live digital service in August and September 2013, in seven chapters.
Because it was born digital, its book is digital too: Shueisha collected it as a single Young Jump Comics Digital volume on October 18, 2013, with no print edition. Viz Media followed the same route in English, publishing [Jack] digitally on September 26, 2017. The story was also adapted as an OVA, released September 30, 2015.
