What Japanese guides did The Minish Cap get?

Three, in a single month, and the cover comparison is one of the cleanest on the shelf.

The Minish Cap reached Japan in late 2004 and its guide coverage was a three way race. Shogakukan published the Nintendo Official Guidebook under the Wonder Life Special label, Nintendo DREAM published its own 127 page guide, and Enterbrain's Perfect guide closed the year on December 25, 2004.

The Shogakukan cover is the art story. It uses a close up of the game's key art, Link with Ezlo, the talking cap, prominent in the frame. The American Nintendo Power guide replaced that scene with a designed emblem: a medallion on a white brick wall pattern. Japan got the characters; America got the logo treatment.

America also had no second opinion: there is no Prima edition for The Minish Cap, so the Nintendo Power book stands alone against Japan's three.

For this Library the Minish Cap books are a compact example of the whole Japanese guide pattern: multiple licensed publishers, genuinely different covers, and an official book whose art never crossed the Pacific.
