Who publishes Trails in English?

Three Western houses have carried the series, in relay, and the handoffs explain the series' whole Western history.

XSEED Games opened the road: the Sky trilogy (2011–2017) and Cold Steel I–II (2015–2016), localised in-house with the enormous scripts documented on the localisation page. When Falcom re-tendered the series, NIS America took over from Cold Steel III (2019) and has published everything since: Cold Steel IV, the official Crossbell editions built on the Geofront's work, Reverie, the Daybreak games, Beyond the Horizon and The Legend of Nayuta. In 2025 a third house joined: GungHo Online Entertainment publishes the Sky remakes in North America (with Clear River Games in Europe), the first Falcom RPGs ever to launch worldwide on a single day.

Around those three sit the supporting players. Ghostlight handled the PSP edition of the first Sky game in Europe. Clouded Leopard Entertainment produces the Chinese and Korean editions across Asia and co-publishes the remakes there. PH3 Games, Peter "Durante" Thoman's studio, engineered NIS America's PC and Switch ports of the Crossbell games. And beneath the official map runs the unofficial one that twice became official: the Geofront's fan translations, licensed first by NIS America and then by Refint. No other JRPG series' English bibliography reads like this, which is precisely why it gets its own page.
