Why did Black Clover move to Jump Giga?

Tabata asked for it: the weekly schedule no longer fit how he wrote, so the final arc finished quarterly in Jump Giga.

In April 2022, Black Clover stopped in Weekly Shōnen Jump for about three months while Tabata prepared the final arc, resuming in issue 35 that August. The weekly grind of the final stretch still proved too much. Tabata has said the weekly serialization schedule no longer fit his writing situation, and Shueisha moved the series rather than push it to collapse.

The last weekly chapter ran on August 21, 2023 in 2023 issue 38. Black Clover reopened in Jump Giga 2024 WINTER on December 25, 2023, publishing longer chapters four times a year. The price of the move shows on the bookshelf: the tankōbon slowed from a near quarterly pace to volume 36 in February 2024, volume 37 in September 2025, and the final volume in August 2026. The reward shows in the ending, which Tabata reached on schedule and on his own terms, covered on the ending page.
