What does Ranma remake season 2 cover?
The second season of the MAPPA Ranma 1/2 premiered in October 2025, continuing the weekly Netflix release pattern of the first. It advances into the manga's established middle period, where the fiancee wars widen, new martial arts schools arrive in Nerima and the series' repertory of rivals, from the Kuno family to the Amazon contingent, is fully in play.
Coverage math shows the remake's long road. Season one adapted the manga's opening volumes at a pace of several chapters per episode; even sustaining that pace, the 38 volume manga represents multiple further seasons. The arcs fans measure the remake against, the later technique sagas, the return to Jusenkyo and the wedding, sit far down that road.
The production continuity matters to that prospect. Director Konosuke Uda's team, the returning principal cast and MAPPA's scheduling all held between seasons, and Japanese home video and streaming performance were strong enough that the remake is treated in Japanese coverage as a continuing series rather than a one off revival.
For the back catalog, each new season lifts the whole property again: manga reprints in Japan, renewed orders for the English omnibus where stock allows, and fresh merchandise waves that mix Takahashi's original art with MAPPA's designs. The Library sorts those waves by era to keep 2020s goods from being misdescribed as vintage.
What remains unadapted is the honest headline. Most of Ranma's second half, including its ending, has never had a faithful screen version. Whether the remake completes the manga is the open question of the franchise's fifth decade, and this page will be updated as announcements are documented.
