What are the Attack on Titan OAD episodes?
The OADs (original animation DVDs) are the anime’s paper wing: episodes produced by Wit Studio and released only as pack-ins with limited editions of the Japanese manga, each described on the editions page. The first, “Ilse’s Notebook” (volume 12, 2013), adapts the beloved side story from volume 5. Two lighter pieces followed: “A Sudden Visitor: The Torturous Curse of Youth” and “Distress” (volumes 13 and 14).
The remaining five are adaptations of the spinoff shelf: “A Choice with No Regrets” parts 1 and 2 (volumes 15 and 16), Levi’s origin from the No Regrets visual novel and manga, and the Lost Girls trilogy (volumes 24–26): Annie’s “Wall Sina, Goodbye” in two parts and Mikasa’s “Lost in the Cruel World.” For years the only legitimate way to own these episodes was to own the books, a distribution model that turned the limited editions into the collector state of eight volumes at once.
