What is Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth?
The series' victory lap and its biggest swing: two protagonists, two countries, and a launch the whole world shared on the same day.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (Ryū ga Gotoku 8) launched simultaneously worldwide on January 26, 2024, a first for the series, and shipped and sold one million copies within seven days, the fastest-selling title in the franchise's history. Ichiban travels to Honolulu searching for his mother; Kiryu, in the twilight of his story, fights beside him.
WHAT IS IN IT
The largest map, the strangest systemsHonolulu
The series' first setting outside Japan and its largest map, built with the same street-by-street method as Kamurocho, down to rendering Hawaii's harsher sunlight on skin.
Live Command RPG Battle
The turn-based system from Like a Dragon, loosened: characters move freely before committing to an attack, and positioning, proximity and the environment all feed the damage.
Dondoko Island
A derelict island Ichiban rebuilds into a resort, gathering, crafting and hosting guests. The developers have said it began as a modest side system and outgrew its plan entirely; it also hosts the series' first real-time day-and-night cycle, an idea the studio had wanted since Yakuza 3.
Two development diaries
Infinite Wealth was built concurrently with Gaiden by the same team, and it is the technical showpiece of the Dragon Engine era: crowd instancing, seamless interiors, and eleven languages at launch, including the series' first Chinese voice acting.

The same two men, the same two circles, the numeral 8 doing the work the subtitle does abroad. The gallery page compares them properly.
