What is Terada Katsuya Zenbu?

His first art book tried to print his whole career to date, some 300 pages of it, and its title is simply the Japanese word for everything.

Zenbu, full title Terada Katsuya Zenbu: Terada Katsuya Zen Shigotoshu, 'the complete collection of works', was published by Kodansha with a first printing dated October 31, 1999 (ISBN 4-06-330083-8). Terada was thirty-five, with the Zelda guides, Jinguji, Virtua Fighter 2 and a decade of covers behind him, and the book gathers that first career in roughly 300 pages of character and concept design.

As an object it set the pattern his bibliography keeps following: the art book as archive, printed to be kept, in runs that sell through, so that each volume now passes from hand to hand as a collectible in its own right. The shelf below is the spine of that bibliography, the books a Terada shelf is built from.
