The Saturn RPG Gallery

The RPG shelf of the system the West abandoned first: giants at home, ghosts abroad, and the most expensive English disc of its generation.

The Saturn's RPG story is a story of two markets. In Japan the system carried Sakura Wars, the biggest original title on the platform, and a three part Shining Force epic. In the West the same years produced a handful of Working Designs longboxes, a Panzer Dragoon Saga printed in the low tens of thousands, and a last game, Rayearth, that closed the American catalogue in December 1998. Six games hang here, plus Grandia, whose history lives on the PlayStation shelf and whose Saturn original gets its door below.

Every cover below is a door to its game's history. The scans are shown at the size sourced from the MobyGames archive (the 440px class); nothing is upscaled or invented, and where no Western edition exists, the tile says so instead of fabricating a pair.
